This week was Art week in school.
Miss Boyle organised having chicks in school. Last week they all hatched out of their eggs and this week we all had the opportunity to hold them. They were very wriggly.
Sports day also took place this week, it was a very close event. There were lots of exciting, close races. We loved all the great sportsmanship we saw throughout the houses. Parents were invited to watch and support their children. We all really wanted to win but we were happy for the winning house who only won by 9 points. Well done green.
Art week. in Year 3 we studied Leonardo Da Vinci in Oak class and Michelle Reader in Elm.
Oak class created lolly stick bridges ( with some success) we created versions of the Mona Lisa out of collage materials and painted on fresh plaster.
In Elm we created new artwork from recycled materials, we made flowers out of sticks and bottle lids, swans out of white bin bags, wire and scrap paper. Our largest piece was a two meter high St Mary’s crest. It was lots of work but it was amazing.
Along with all the fun activities we have also found time to play cricket and tennis in PE, Tests in Maths and independent writing in English. We are looking forward to the weekend!
