Curriculum

At St Mary’s Junior School, we aim to: support, value and nurture in a stimulating learning environment built on a foundation of Christian Values.
Our vision is for all children, staff, parents, visitors, governors, cluster schools and the community in which we live.
In order for this to happen for all, we: Strive for outstanding teaching and learning. Strive to accept difference and build confidence. Strive to develop the ability to flourish in the school community. Regularly review and adapt the learning environment to engage and stimulate children’s learning. Instil Christian Values amongst everyone our school community.
Our Curriculum is developed with this vision in mind.
We use the revised National Curriculum (September 2014) as the basis for our teaching, providing creative opportunities through visits, visitors and workshops wherever possible. Personal, social and health education, and the opportunity to develop spiritual, moral, social and cultural awareness is fundamental to everything we do at St Mary’s so we can prepare our children for life in modern Britain.
